Sha’ban {The Month Of Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a)}

Imam Zainul Aabedin (a.s.) said :

The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) used to observe fast during the whole month of Shabaan. Therefore, whoso, in love of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), wishes to seek nearness to Allah (s.w.t.) and receive bounties, favours and rewards in this world and in the Hereafter, must connect Shabaan with Ramazan (in the matter of fasting and special prayers).”

Everyday A’amal

  1. Observe fast.
  2. Give alms (strongly recommended).
  3. Recite 70 times, “ASTAGHFERUL LAAHA WA AS- ALOHUT TAWBAH”. (I seek forgiveness of Allah (s.w.t.) and repentant, beseech Him).

  1. Fasting on Thursdays in this month is highly rewarding if one is not fit to observe fast daily.
  2. It is also recommended to observe fast on 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 13th, 14th, 15th and last three days of Shabaan and pray every night a 2 rak’at namaz – In every rak’at after surah al- Fateha recite surah al-Ikhlaas 13 times.
  3. Aamaal of 15th Shabaan, the day when our present Imam (a.t.f.s.) was born in 255 A.H.

It is recommended to recite Ziyarat, dua after Ziarat and Salawaat (see Mafatihul Jinaan).
